Kunene Explorer

5 Night Safari

Discover the unique landscapes and cultures of Namibia’s Kunene Region with a five-day safari that starts and ends at Khowarib Lodge. This itinerary takes you through the vibrant market town of Opuwo, where you can interact with Himba and Herero women. It continues to the scenic banks of the Kunene River for camping at Swartbooisdrift. Highlights include visiting the Dorsland Trekkers Monument, cruising along the palm-lined Kunene River with potential crocodile and bird sightings, and exploring the breathtaking Epupa Falls. Enjoy a sundowner overlooking the falls, visit local Himba villages to gain insight into their semi-nomadic lifestyle, and have the option to go rafting during the dry months. This journey offers a blend of cultural immersion, natural beauty, and adventure in Kaokoland,  one of Namibia’s most remote and stunning regions. It is perfect for travellers eager to experience authentic interactions and unforgettable landscapes.
