Angola Scenic

10 Night Safari

Embark on an eleven-day journey across Namibia and Angola’s diverse landscapes and borderlands, starting at the Sunset Lodge and Campsite in Ruacana. This adventure begins with a crossing into Angola, weaving through the towns of Chitado and into the expansive Iona National Park for a night of wild camping. The tour continues westward, delving deeper into the park and eventually reaching the banks of the Kunene River, just a stone’s throw from the Atlantic Ocean. Spend two nights camping along the rugged coast, exploring the challenging terrains of the “doodsakker” along the northern shoreline.

As the journey progresses north, you’ll reach the coastal town of Namibe, replenish supplies, and explore the quaint fishing village of Tombua and the scenic Lake Arco. The following two nights are spent at the Oceanos campsite, where there are opportunities to delve into the coastal landscapes near Bentiaba. Travel further north to Praya do Soba, camping near the village of Bentiaba and exploring the northern coasts. The adventure takes a historical turn as you head east through the Serra Da Leba Pass, visiting the striking Tundavala formations and the iconic Christ the King Statue in Lubango and learning about the Dorsland Trek at Humpata. The journey concludes with camping along the Kubango River before re-entering Namibia, capturing the essence of this cross-border exploration that blends natural wonders with cultural and historical insights.
